I live in LA with my husband, my cats, and my dog. Since childhood, I’ve had this compulsive need to make things, regardless of whether I had the requisite skills to make them or not. This blog will journal the creation (or attempted creation) of these things.
And, yes, as the title suggests, I’ve finally come to terms with the fact that I’m a recluse by nature, so I respectfully ask that you please don’t invite me to weddings, birthdays, showers, happy hours, etc. No matter how fond of you I am, I will make up an excuse to stay home with a cup of tea and knit. You’re welcome to join me any time.
I love your website and the little blurb about you had me laughing out loud (or should that be lol?!) I’m also newish to sewing and can’t get enough of it (literally, 2 preschoolers and a tendancy to look at other peoples creations when I should be making my own takes care of that). Just thought I would drop you a line and say that I find your sewing projects very inspiring and you make it all look so easy. Keep it up.
many thanks, melinda!
Maya is super-talented!
Haha…I also find that evenings with a cup of tea and some yarn are so much more enjoyable than a martini or a beer!! Great writing style…had me laughing!
like your blog – do keep it up!
do you still have the free burda tunic pattern pdf (from your “new tunic dress + knee-hi gladiator sandals” post on 7/19/2008) ? it’s no longer available on burda site.
I got your website from an ehow.com project you did. It was the Hexagon Honeycomb Shelves Made From Popsicle sticks. However, the hexagon template link does not work nor can you download it. Is there a way that you can send me a pdf or the file? Thanks!
Hi Susan! Not a problem! You can download it here: https://incurablehomebody.files.wordpress.com/2018/08/popsicle-stick-hexagon-shelves-template.pdf
If this doesn’t work, please contact me using the “contact me” link above and include your email address so I can send it to you. Best!
